"My Patient Rights were Violated"

If you are looking for a safe serene therapeutic environment, don't trust the photos on the website. Malibu Vista is the opposite- think GIRL INTERRUPTED. It's chaotic, I saw people who had been there for months and clearly had made no progress. They promise you multiple daily individual therapy sessions, when in fact they happen twice a week. Everyone is being treated for such very different things, which makes the group therapy ineffective. I point this out because they stress how individualized the treatment is, when in fact it is actually mostly group. While I was there my patient rights were violated, I was subject to aggression and violence at the hands of another patient, obviously that is against the rules of conduct but they did nothing to reprimand her or make me feel safe. I was treated with a total lack of empathy, dignity, or compassion. I hope that telling my story will save someone from going through what I went through. The experience I had makes me sick to my stomach. I feel like a fool for falling for their slick marketing pitch.
